The Aroostook Partnership is starting a new chapter with the appointment of Dr. Kiersten S. Purington as its President and CEO. Effective May 5, 2025. Dr. Purington’s background in leadership and organizational development is extensive. She founded Blue Dragonfly Solutions, LLC, a company providing project and program management solutions for clients in the life sciences sector. Her experience at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, combined with skills in research, grant writing, and improving organizational effectiveness, gives her the tools to guide the Aroostook Partnership through its next phase of growth.
The board of the Aroostook Partnership expressed excitement about Dr. Purington joining the team. Jennifer Buckingham, board chair and head of the search committee, highlighted her dedication to economic and community development, noting that her scientific and professional experience will be valuable for supporting local businesses.
