The 2023 Leadership Aroostook cohort recently completed their program by developing strategic action plans aimed at advancing Aroostook County. This professional development initiative, a partnership between Husson University’s College of Business and the Aroostook Partnership, helps local professionals build leadership skills while tackling real challenges facing the region.
Program Overview
Participants completed nine in-person monthly sessions, along with supplemental readings and team projects. The program is designed to help emerging leaders gain new insights, enhance their professional capabilities, and increase engagement within their organizations. Graduates represented ten local businesses, each bringing unique perspectives to the collaborative projects.
Turning Ideas into Action
The cohort focused on operationalizing recommendations from previous Leadership Aroostook classes. Their goal was to develop actionable strategies that address ongoing county-wide challenges, including workforce development, business growth, and community engagement. By connecting practical leadership training with real-world county needs, the program equips graduates to make a tangible impact in Aroostook.
Benefits for the Community
Graduates leave the program with enhanced leadership abilities, ready to apply new skills in their workplaces and support broader organizational goals. Employers often benefit from improved employee retention and leadership growth, while the county gains innovative solutions to local issues.
Leadership Aroostook continues to serve as a platform for nurturing talent, fostering collaboration, and driving positive change across the region.
